AC Compressor Clutch Assembly for Land Cruiser Prado models including the LJ71, LJ78, KZJ78, and the Land Cruiser 80 Series with 1HDFT or late model 1HZ engines

Complete replacement clutch assembly with bearing and 12V magnet

The air gap must be set correctly on any new AC clutch assembly. This is the gap between the pulley and the front clutch plate. If the gap is too large, the clutch plate won't pull-in adequately to ensure proper traction on the pulley and it will slip, and if the air gap is too small the parts may rub together creating drag and wear.

As this style of clutch does not permit feeler gauges from being used to measure the gap, the approach to setting the air gap is to shim the front clutch plate so that it is just barely touching the pulley, and then measuring shims of the correct thickness to provide the required air gap and installing those.

The air gap needs to be between 0.014" to 0.026" (14 to 26 thou).

The clutch assembly does NOT come with the bolt, shims, or the two snap rings; these items must be re-used from your old AC Clutch. More or fewer shims may be required to obtain the correct air gap.
