This item replaces the choke plate and choke lever on Honda EU2200i (and other related generators) with a new item.
The reason for replacing this choke set is when the choke lever plastic has worn out and the choke rattles or vibrates into the operating position and chokes the engine while it's running... which leads to chugging of the engine, engine vibration, poor performance, not responding to increased loads, greater fuel consumption and so on.
The wear happens between a pin that is cast into the carburetor and the plastic lever itself. The plastic wears out or gets compressed over time, which causes the choke to slide into the engaged position.
To replace this lever: you need to access the carburetor by removing the generator side cover as well as the air filter box assembly (Phillips screwdriver, 8mm socket on an extension). Then between the plastic choke shaft and the choke plate, insert a small mechanic's pick or small slot screwdriver into the slit to create a gap that will allow you to pull then choke plate out with some needle nose pliers. Then, pull up on the grey plastic choke lever to remove it from the carb... Replace the lever into the carb with the new part, then insert the choke plate into the gap in the choke lever shaft in the correct orientation.
