This pin & spring provides the electrical contact for to the horn contact plate (45176-20030) in many different models of Toyota, including the Land Cruiser 60 Series, Hilux, Vans, Starlet, Corolla, Corona, Cressida, Dyna & many others from the late 1970s until the early 1990s.
This brass pin eventually wears down and makes a scraping sound on the corresponding contact plate (Toyota calls it a "Ring"), and then the horn doesn't always work well.
