Are you getting a scraping sound when you turn your steering wheel? This is sometimes the cause - The brass pin (84312-020011) eventually wears down and makes a scraping sound on the corresponding contact plate (Toyota calls it a "Ring"), and then the horn doesn't always work well.
This horn contact ring is used in many different Toyota models from the late 1970s through to the the late 1990s
Commonly this is applicable to Land Cruiser 40 Series from 1980-on, 60 Series, and 70 Series to about 1999. Also, Dyna, HiAce, Hilux, Corolla, 4Runner and many others. Check your part number or compare your part the this product photo prior to ordering.
In many applications, the part works in conjunction with the "Horn Contact Pin & Spring" 84312-20011 and they wear out together creating a scraping noise and an intermittently working horn.
