These slip rings are for the 1990 and later Land Cruiser and Prado models with factory electric locking hubs.
Suits models such as: HZJ71, HZJ73, HZJ77, LJ71, LJ78, KZJ71, KZj78 and other related models.
Sometimes the slips rings will develop a crack and not conduct current, or very occasionally they will wear out if not lubricated properly.
The slip rings are an important part of the hub bearing adjustment nut system as these models use the slip ring to hold the hub nut in place to prevent it from coming off by way of keying into the bearing spindle and the 3 torx (T20) screws that lock it into place with the nut.
