This thermostat ships with a Genuine Toyota thermostat gasket included.

Thermostat for the 1KZ series of engines that has a lower opening temperature of 71C or 76C (169F) compared to original factory installed thermostat which starts to open at 82C.

Lower opening temperatures help to moderate engine operating temperatures where higher than normal temperatures may be encountered due to an aging cooling system, high ambient temperatures, large vehicle loads, or an engine that has been modified for more output.

HiAce vans came from the factory with the lower temperature 76C thermostat, this is an optional even lower temperature thermostat for those that require it.
