This is a Toyota branded Tang-Thru screwdriver for JIS type cross point screws as found on most Japanese made vehicles. The JIS type screws have different dimensions to the American style Phillips screws and tend to strip out easily when the wrong screwdriver type (Phillips) is used.
The Tang-Thru type has a full metal tang all the way through the body of the screwdriver which allows the use of a hammer on the end of the screwdriver to encourage the screw to loosen off with by tapping on the end if the screwdriver while applying torque in the desired direction.
This screwdriver model also has a hex built into the top of the screwdriver shaft so a box-end wrench can be slipped over the hex to permit increased torque application to the screw.
